Unfortunately we did not win the competition. However I have found a good source of advice in one of the universities commercialisation managers. I will be preparing a business plan soon and will post it for comments.
We have also decided that we need to push some sort of design out the door. So we have a design to let the community build on and so we can build up numbers to reach a tipping point. To this end we have restructured the website again and will be mainly just posting our progress.This does not mean you cannot get invovled just that we are going to form a more tight nit group to get an inital product out the door.

So there is this competition that my university is running it sponsors innovative new ideas (That's us). Hopefully this will be able to provide us with some resources to create a not for profit company and set up some web based systems to aid us in our development.
It should also help us get some sponsors to provide funding for prototypes.
In other news Liam has been working on some models and I will have some time off from uni from the 24th to spend some time revamping our website again.

Hey guys just updated our joomla website. Liam is on holidays at the moment so everything is going a bit slow but we look forward to the end of February when we hope to find some more recruits and really kick things off.
Most of my time at the moment is just spent trying to organise the tools we need to collaborate on the web although I hope to have some more time soon to devote to engineering and design.
If you think this is a good idea email us and we will sign you up remember thinking about it won't make it happen.

Hope everyone had a very merry Christmas and a happy new year !
The OSS team is really looking forward to 2009 we have some big things planed.
It was a bit quiet over the Christmas new year period with most of us being busy with family commitments.

Design Restructure
We are introducing a new system for the design process which will hopefully aid in the progress of the scooter design. What we've done is brake the scooter up into its respective categories and assigned member of the design team to look after each area. The aim is that with someone officially driving each section forward it will allow for a structured and progressive design process.
If you are looking to join us in designing an opensource scooter please find the area you wish to work on and jump on board.
